Who we are
Smoothly Run is operated by Aonghas Anderson, trading as Smoothly Run. For privacy questions, contact aonghas@hax.codes.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run a shared trip:
- the name and colour you choose in the app;
- trip, packing-list, schedule, saved-place, and shared-link content you or other participants add;
- photos or icons you choose to upload; and
- device and storage information needed to keep the app available offline and synchronised.
We do not use analytics to track how you use Smoothly Run, and we do not ask for payment details through the service.
How we use it
We use this information to provide shared planning, show changes to participants, store your trip for offline use, provide map and place-search features when enabled, maintain the service, and understand how it is used where analytics is enabled.
Who can see your trip
Smoothly Run is designed around shareable trip links. Anyone you share a trip link or trip code with may be able to view or change that trip, depending on its settings. Do not add information that you would not want trip participants to see.
Service providers
Depending on the features enabled, we use providers such as:
- Google Firebase, including Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage, to store and synchronise trip data;
- Mapbox, Google Places, or other place-data providers for map and search features;
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for optional notifications; and
These providers may process information in countries outside your own.
Storage and cookies
The app uses browser storage, including local storage, IndexedDB, and Cache Storage, to remember preferences and make a trip available offline. Analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies if analytics is enabled. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings, but doing so may remove locally available offline data.
Retention
Trip data is kept unless the trip owner or Smoothly Run chooses to delete it. We do not apply a fixed routine deletion period or a separate backup-deletion timetable. Stale trip data may be removed at our discretion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us using the details above to make a request.
If UK data-protection law applies, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the “last updated” date above.
